The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Review

Watched The Amazing Spider-Man 2 at SM City DasmariƱas. Can't find the ticket. I got it back but I think it mixed with the other receipts I left in the cinema.

The Subway Train Lab is kind of Spider-Man's version of the Bat Cave.

It's really disappointing that they followed the comics and let Gwen Stacy die. Why not let Peter Parker die and then we will have the clone saga in the sequel? Or, they could cast Emma Stone again as Mary Jane coz she's a natural red head. Mary Jane has many inconsistencies and incompatibilities to Spider-Man compared to Gwen Stacy.

I thought they will already introduce Mary Jane in this movie but it's Felicia/Black Cat who was introduced as Harry Osborn's secretary. I wonder if the actress here will still reprise the role in the upcoming sequels. She's hot.

The story is kinda boring, especially the romance part between Peter and Gwen. I don't know. Maybe they intentionally made it that way because it's either they are avoiding to be criticized especially those who make spoof trailers and videos on YouTube or because Gwen Stacy's character will die in this movie.

The casting of Jamie Foxx as Electro made it seems they wanna make the character look "cool". His voice seems similar with Schwarzenegger's Mr. Freeze. They exaggerated the 2nd fight between Spider-Man and Electro. There's no way a human being (even if he has radioactive spider powers) can withstand that high voltage of electricity. His heart could have stopped and his whole body and costume burned and disintegrated.

Harry and Peter didn't had much background as bestfriends or old friends as in this movie compared to Sam Raimi's trilogy but Harry struggling in getting his Green Goblin powers was well exploited in this movie.

The kid wearing a Spider-Man costume confronting Rhino during the denouement part of the movie was a ripoff (with Stan Lee's permission of course coz he owns both characters) from Iron Man 2 when a kid wearing an Iron Man helmet and gloves was about to be shot by a drone. I watched a short clip on YouTube where Spider-Man (I think it's Andrew Garfield and not his stunt double) is playing basketball with some kids in a street court. I thought they will include that in the movie.

All the products introduced are Sony's and it's like they are saying that most people in New York use Sony products.

I wish they put Spider-Man and Wolverine in The Avengers 2 or 3. With Sony having the license of the franchise, that might be impossible.

The movie ( like any other Hollywood movies these days) is still calling for United Kingdom for financial support of the movie.

I hope they put Carnage in the sequel. Just skip Venom coz the character is already in Spider-Man 3.
